I got a little lost reading the first article about what is web design but by the end started understanding it. I've always thought of web design as the new-age magazine. I would like my website to be similar to Martha Stewart's Living magazine - clean, simple, organized, and easy to navigate. I liked what this article had to say about websites needing to be able to grow over time, while maintaining its identity.
The second article was really informative and interesting. I like the analogy of the urban planning with web planning. It was really neat to see the images of the home page of a website and then what it's grid pattern layout is - it's amazing what we can do with CSS!!!
