Liz'z pick this week
http://www.chihuly.com/
This is Dale Chihuly the most amazing glass blower. I like the use of black and the look of the floating image on the main page. I also like that in the darkest, you can see any division. (ie "boxes")
photographer

This site is fairly simple and easy to get around in, the only critique I would give it is that in the architecture screen, there is no where that tells you where the photo has been taken or what building or city that the building lives in.

Too Much!!
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1OTk1P/ohjoy.blogs.com/
There was so much info and it was so choppy and unorganized, I wasn't really sure who was doing the writing and what they were trying to convey. Who's web site is this and what are they trying to tell us or sell us......I'm not sure.

I love the look of their site. Their nag bar is fun with the pieces of paper and the image block in the middle. Clean and fun.

I like the layout of this site, but I don't like that you have to scroll to the right to view the photos. I like the logos and the variety of fonts as well.

one good, one not
this is a good site if there are a lot of categories for images.
this was a site I thought might be good but ended up weird, busy and not that great to navigate.
www.ledzeppelin.com
- led zep's official website. The design is simplistic but really shows great use of web design and differnt elements like javascript. The navigation is also very clever and easy to use.

cool scroll box
I kinda stumbled upon (tho not with stumbleupon.com) this guy from phish's site. Hes got a cool scroll box I like where the owls head moves with the text: http://www.mike-gordon.com/news/
and his tour announcement video is funny too: http://www.mike-gordon.com/

one thing i don't like about this website is that the pictures are just between too big and just right. the up and down scroll throws me off and is a bit distracting, if she were to just resize her pictures a tiny bit it wouldn't show up and it would look amazing.

Nashville Mafia
nashville mafia
A cool guy with a tattoo-like style, the site is super dark but it kinda works out that way. Shows his artwork individually as well as have a small caption about each one.
smooth easy site
http://www.jefferysalter.com/#/Portraits/real%20people/1
I like this for the uncluttered, clean look and for the large size of the thumbnails and fast loading, sharp images. There is also an option to make it full screen that I like as well as the > that appears only when the mouse goes on the sides.

Liz'z website this week
Let me start by saying I don't like starbucks coffee but their website is cool. I like the way when you roll over stuff things slide up or over. It's very interactive, keeping you the page, rolling over stuff. And I kind of like the layout too.
Japanese Barcodes
http://www.d-barcode.com/
This website's design is pretty amazing, especially the barcodes page.
Ali's Sites 3_14_11
stephanieascariphotography.com
This is a very soft, mellow, photography website. I like how she has two large photos shown at a time. Very easy site to navigate.

check out this sweet site. it has a pretty simple design, but is organized very well. also its a great place to discover new design elements and creative solutions which could be used to enhance your pages.

creepy
http://www.beksinski.pl/
This site had all kinds of odd things. The menu bar was kind of cool yet annoying because you couldn't get away from the strings.....you have to see it to know what I'm talking about. There was dark music, different for each page. And on top of all that the art was dark. However, the site and the art combined made me intrigued.

Ali's Website Pick 3.9.11
http://www.kensingtonschool.com/
This is not an artist's website, but it's closer to what I have in mind for my own teacher site. I love how clean and simple it is, very straight-forward and full of great information. I also love the color scheme.

This one scrolls forever but I like it. I like the "collection" feel of all the images in neat boxes.

I like how "next >" appears where ever you put the arrow on an image. It takes time to load but is simple and clean. Seems many get away from the drop down menus and make a list of everything in small print to the side. Not sure which is better but I am liking the ease of wherever your mouse is the next button is...

Interesting by Maggi
www.wwwcomcom.com
Really cool alien feel when you hover over the tabs that follows the alien theme. The top of the site shows the web site, but the font is really hard to read.

Interesting Design Schemes and Typography
There are some strong design elements on this site which utilize space well, and some great examples of modern typography. These things can be useful while designing a site which features advanced design.
